Earl Sweatshirt: Behind Solace
OFWGKTA, multi-genre hip hop collective, emerged to the scene in 2009. Originally created by Tyler The Creator, the letters stand for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. The collective consists of seven members, one of them named Earl Sweatshirt. The Rapper's real name is Thebe Neruda Kgositstile.
Odd Future shook the hip hop scene with their intensely explicit lyrics, non-dimensional beats and eerie video content. This tight knit collective of people branched off a whole new genre of music and continues to inspire artists around the world.
At the rise of their fame, Earl Sweatshirt leaves to a therapeutic reform school in Samoa. Tyler would start a "Free Earl" campaign in his absence without his consent.
As their career paths took different turns, the seven letters would soon fade down memory lane. Tyler and Earl, especially, were displayed as close friends through the media. As time progressed, the two would separate into their own lives.
Sweatshirt would separate from the group and go on his own life path. At the end of April 2015, Earl released a song called "Solace" after releasing "I don't like shit, I don't go outside". The album talks about Earl's moments of depression and anxiety existing inside of him prior to his life with Odd Future.
Solace is a 10 minute song about his time being alone, sleepless nights, and being without his friends.

I'd definitely check out the lyrics and descriptions as well.
